First Part of the Civil Construction Design (CCD) Program

Offered as a package with RII60520 Advanced Diploma of Civil Construction Design- CRICOS 111404A (52 weeks duration) at Albright Institute.

This qualification reflects the role of individuals working as designers or design paraprofessionals who support professional engineers. They perform tasks involving a high level of autonomy and requiring the application of significant judgement in planning and determining the selection of equipment/roles/techniques for themselves and others. They are required to develop site specific work designs to ensure the implementation of the client’s site requirements. They demonstrate the application of a broad range of technical, managerial, coordination and planning skills.

After completing, Diploma of Civil Construction Design students should opt to complete RII60520 Advanced Diploma of Civil Construction Design as part of the Albright Civil Construction Design Program.

This qualification provides potential employment opportunities in roles such as Civil Engineering Construction Supervisor, Civil Engineering Draftsperson, Civil
Engineering Design Draftsperson, Civil Engineering Technician, and Senior Civil Works Designer.

Further study pathways include VET courses such as RII60520 Advanced Diploma of Civil Construction Design.

Students may approach higher studies in a similar field after completion of this qualification, such as a bachelor’s degree with one of Albright’s university partners, higher education provider partners or elsewhere.

  • Applicants must be minimum 18 years of age at the time of commencement;
  • Have a valid, or in the process of obtaining, a Student Visa or a visa which would allow them to study in Australia (applicable for international students);
  • Must satisfy Albright Pre-training Review (PTR) Assessment.
  • Applicants must undertake the Albright LLND test;
  • Have a valid IELTS score of 5.5 Bands or PTE score of 42 or Cambridge score 162 or TOEFL iBT 46 or its equivalent (completed a minimum 10-weeks General English Course of Upper-Intermediate Level) within the last 2 calendar years; OR Completed an Australian AQF Level 3 (Certificate III) qualification or higher within last 3 calendar years; OR completed the requirements for a Senior Secondary Certificate of Education in a course conducted entirely in English in Australia within the last 3 calendar years; OR completed a minimum of 5 continuous years of study conducted in English in one or more of the following countries: Australia, Canada, New Zealand, South Africa, the Republic of Ireland, the United Kingdom and the United States of America;
  • Successful completion of an equivalent of Australian Year 12 qualification in any country;
  • Basic computer and MS Office skills (Word, Excel and Power Point, etc.).

There are no training package entry requirements for this course. However, Albright Institute stipulates some general entry requirements as outlined above. For details, please refer to the Albright Entry Requirement Policy and Procedure available in the Forms and Policies section in the website.

To achieve this qualification, student must demonstrate competency in 20 units of competency (20 elective units).

Units have been selected in accordance with the packaging rules and are relevant to the work outcome, local industry requirements and qualification level.

Furthermore, the selection and delivery sequence of all units in this course align with the Engineers Australia recommended curriculum.

Compulsory Training Hours:
15 Hours on Campus Training + 5 Hours Online Per Week**

*A typical week consists of two days of on campus classes, each with two periods scheduled in either the AM or PM block + a third day online session of 5 hours. 

**Timetables specific to each course or cohort are released before the start of the commencement week and updated at the beginning of each term.

Training at Albright is a combination of facilitated learning activities using a combination of theory and research. The different range of activities could be demonstrations, role plays, presentations and individual classroom and group activities.

  • Students are required to attend a total of 15 hours of face-to-face scheduled training + 5 hours of online training to complete the compulsory 20 contact hours per week requirement of the International Student visa.
