Simulated Major Project: Capstone in Civil Construction Design (Non-Accredited Short Course) is an 8-week program that provides Engineering Associate graduates and draftspersons with a structured major project experience. Participants spend over 120 project hours completing the full design and drafting lifecycle, from project scope through to “Issued for Construction” drawings, supported by industry review and final presentation.

The program also includes training in Criterion-Referenced Report Writing, designed to build the skills typically required for preparing CDR-style reports to support Migration Skills Assessment such as by Engineers Australia.

• Ideally: Completed RII60520 Advanced Diploma of Civil Construction Design

• VET Competencies in the following 2 units
  • MEM30031 – Operate computer-aided design (CAD) system to produce basic drawing element
  • RIICWD601E – Manage civil works design processes

This short course does not result in a nationally recognised qualification or unit of competency. It is intended as a professional practice simulation to strengthen evidence for migration skills assessment and enhance industry readiness.
