Each level consists of 12 study weeks, delivered in 6-week learning blocks.
Every level includes a 2-week scheduled break, and you may apply for up to 2 additional weeks of self-managed break per level.
The maximum enrolment duration for the IELTS program is 32 weeks, including 24 weeks of study and up to 8 weeks of holidays (scheduled and/or self-managed)
- IELTS classes are offered in the evening only (Melbourne & Sydney)
- You can start any Monday, except on public holidays or during official breaks.

Practice Tests
Every week you will complete one Practice Test which focuses on one of the macro skills (listening, reading, writing, and speaking). After the Practice Test, your teacher will provide feedback and give some exam tips on how to achieve better scores on your IELTS test.
Skills Tests
Every four weeks you must complete the Skills Test which focuses on all macro skills – listening, reading, writing, and speaking. Skills Tests provide excellent IELTS exam practice. The results are used to issue end-of-course certificates.
At the end of the course, you will receive either a Certificate of Attainment or a Certificate of Participation, depending on your progress.
To receive a Certificate of Attainment, you must:
- Complete a minimum of 6 study weeks at the current level.
- Maintain 80% or higher attendance.
- Score at least:
- 50% in the Skills Test (IELTS Foundation)
- 55% in the Skills Test (IELTS Advanced)
A Certificate of Participation will be issued if the required criteria are not met.
Minimum Attendance: Your attendance must not be below 80%.
Daily Attendance: Student visa holders must attend all scheduled classes (20 hours a week).
Academic Progress: To maintain satisfactory course progress, students must complete a Skills Test every 4 study weeks and achieve the required score in each macro skill (listening, reading, writing and speaking).
Seeking Support: If you are struggling to maintain satisfactory course progress, you need to contact Albright student support services for assistance.
Consequences of Non-Compliance: Failure to comply with the attendance requirements may result in the implementation of attendance intervention strategies and cancellation of your enrolment.

Here’s what you need to know:
- You can request up to 2 weeks of self-managed holiday per level (if your level doesn’t already include the maximum 4 weeks of scheduled break).
- Please avoid scheduling study breaks during Skills Test weeks, as these are critical for your academic progress.
- Keep in mind that your Confirmation of Enrolment can’t end with a holiday period.
If you’re unsure about your options, our support team is here to help you every step of the way.
